Tennessee state representative Mike Stewart, a Democrat from Nashville, was on Channel 2 today claiming Republicans are not interested in solving any problems. Well duh! That's because we're busy spending our time on getting more dirty air and water, and starving school children.
Stewart then said he was working on expanding free health insurance for people (didn't Obamacare solve this problem?), and getting the minimum wage raised. Sooo I fired off an e-mail to the mis-informed politician:
Representative Stewart,
I just wanted to educate you on a couple of issues:
With all due respect sir, wise up.
- The Federal government has provided no funding to give people free healthcare, and Tennessee certainly cannot afford to do so.
- Job loss has resulted in every case where the minimum wage was raised. I spent much of last year researching this subject and could provide you with many, many links, but my guess is you will not be interested since this common sense fact collides with your failed liberal world view. You are not helping people by taking away their jobs, and we certainly don't need more kids roaming the streets with nothing to do.
